Welcome..
I am Deborah Shomuyiwa, a pharmacist, behavioral scientist, and researcher focused on the emotional and structural dimensions of health. My work examines how people experience healthcare systems, how emotion shapes decision-making and recovery, and how policy, technology, and service delivery interact to produce inequitable outcomes.
I am particularly interested in maternal and reproductive health, pregnancy experiences, and healthcare encounters, with attention to trauma, emotional safety, and support. I use qualitative research, behavioral science, and emerging computational methods to translate lived experience into evidence that can inform research, practice, and systems change.
